About The Position

The Patient Care Tech position at Evanston Hospital involves providing essential support in a healthcare setting, specifically in the Neuro/Uro/Overflow departments. This full-time role requires working 40 hours per week with shifts that include day and PM hours, specifically from 7am to 3:30pm or 3pm to 11:30pm, along with rotating weekends. The position demands a high level of attention and manual dexterity, as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet patient care needs. The role includes responsibilities such as assessing patients, reading and recording patient charts, and utilizing appropriate patient movement equipment for lifting and transfers. There is a potential for exposure to hazardous materials, and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of PPE, is required.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and ability to prioritize.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical nursing environment.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and read/record patient charts.
• Utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for lifting and transfers.
• Assist with lifting patients up to 50 pounds in urgent situations.
• Maintain visual and auditory attention to patient care needs throughout the shift.
