About The Position
Make it happen at Hopkins. Patient Care Tech Intern – CNA - Surgical Inpatient / IMC Full Time – Night Shift - 36 hours. The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Inpatient / IMC Unit ( Zayed 11 West) is a 32-bed surgical unit caring for adolescent and adult patients. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and 9 intermediate care beds. Care and services provided: Thoracic Surgery (lung resections, pneumonectomy, esophagectomy), Urology (RRP, TURP), Vascular Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and a large variety of other general surgery patients. The Patient Care Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
- Entry-level knowledge of basic clinical skills required to support nursing personnel with patient care activities and related services focused on the needs and comfort of patients.
- PCT Intern will remain in an intern role for no longer than 1 year. The PCT Intern will advance to the PCT I upon meeting training requirements.
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
- Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position.
