About The Position

The Patient Care Tech / Health Unit Coordinator (PCT/HUC) works in the Neuroscience ICU at Miami Valley Hospital. This full-time position requires working from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, totaling 36 hours a week and 72 hours per pay period. The PCT collaborates with nurses and doctors to provide personalized care for patients, which includes checking vital signs, assisting patients with mobility, dressing, and eating, collecting samples, and reporting any changes in a patient's condition to a nurse. The role also involves assisting with paperwork and other tasks that help the hospital run smoothly, ensuring that patients receive the best care possible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • BLS CPR certificate (can be obtained during orientation).
  • No previous job experience required, but must have one of the following: finished STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training; helped care for patients in the past 5 years; or are in nursing school and have finished one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Check vital signs, such as temperature, heartbeat, and breathing.

  • Perform tasks under the supervision of a nurse.
