This role is for a Patient Care Tech Float at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, TN, within the Float Pool department, on a full-time day shift schedule.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Aide preferred.
- 18 months of direct care experience as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital setting
Responsibilities
- Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
- Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
- Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.
