This position functions as both a Patient Care Tech (PCT) and Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). A Patient Care Tech functions as a clinical support partner assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. A Health Unit Coordinator, under the direction of nursing leadership, facilitates unit organization and patient care by assisting in the coordination of patient, nursing, physician and other health care provider office and clerical activities. PART-TIME VARIABLE SHIFT NEEDED Unit Description: SIMC offers caregivers exposure to a diverse patient population, enhancing clinical experience. Team members collaborate effectively in a fast-paced setting, fostering a supportive work culture. Shifts are 12 hours in duration, starting at either 0500 or 1700. The unit consists of 25 beds and accommodates both surgical and intermediate care patients. SIMC also serves as an overflow unit for other critical care and medical departments.
