About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (CNA) in the Emergency Department at Intermountain Health functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by licensed professionals. Requirements

  • Current CNA Certification.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Completion of nursing assistant training program or fundamentals of nursing class with passing grade within the past two years.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience.
  • Current enrollment in nursing school.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care including toileting, bathing, linen changes, and comfort measures.
  • Assists with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
  • Provides excellent customer service in response to patient and family requests.
  • Reports and records patient care findings and changes in patient condition promptly.
  • Collaborates with RN and interdisciplinary team for optimal patient care.
  • Performs non-nursing duties as delegated, such as cleaning and clerical support.
  • Implements plan of care as delegated and performs assigned duties within Scope of Practice.
