About The Position

The Patient Care Tech position in the Emergency Department at Evanston Hospital is a part-time role requiring 24 hours of work per week, with shifts during the day and evening, including rotating weekends. The role involves a variety of duties that require mental, visual, and auditory attention, as well as manual dexterity for sustained periods. The position entails assessing patients, reading and recording patient charts, and conversing with patients and healthcare team members, often while wearing masks. There is potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous materials, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks. The role also requires physical activities such as lifting, pushing, and transferring patients, particularly in urgent situations where assistance with lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork and the ability to prioritize tasks.
