About The Position

The Patient Care Tech in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Rochester General Hospital provides direct or indirect patient care in accordance with treatment plans as determined or delegated by a licensed nurse or RN. The role involves assisting with tasks necessary for the general management and organization of the patient care unit, demonstrating flexibility to meet patient and/or unit needs. Patient Care Techs of all time types (per diem, part time, and full time) must be able to attend FULL TIME orientation Monday-Friday from 8AM to 4:30PM during the first week of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, experience as a medical assistant/technician in a health-related facility, or participation in a Patient Care Technician training program.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Customer service and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and indirect activities to facilitate unit functioning.
• Provide safe and competent care for patients with respect to nutritional, skin integrity, elimination, and hygiene needs.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Ensure equipment and all facilities are clean and stocked with appropriate supplies.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
