About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Apprenticeship program at Elmhurst Hospital is a full-time, paid position designed for individuals looking to start a career in patient care. Participants will undergo a comprehensive training program that includes classroom instruction and hands-on experience, ultimately leading to certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Upon successful completion, participants will transition into a PCT role with increased responsibilities and a higher salary.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or willing to obtain certification during the program.
• Entry-level position suitable for individuals with no prior experience in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Complete a 4-week training program consisting of 2 weeks of classroom instruction and 2 weeks of hybrid training.
• Commit to working an 8-hour day shift for the first 5 weeks of the program.
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance for all classes and working shifts.
• Complete the Certified Nursing Assistant exam within 2 weeks of finishing the training program.
• Accept a full-time PCT position at Edward or Elmhurst Hospital after program completion.
