About The Position

The Patient Care Technician at Rochester General Hospital provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with treatment plans established by licensed nurses or RNs. This role is essential for the general management and organization of the patient care unit, requiring flexibility to meet the needs of patients and the unit.

Requirements

• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or one year of experience as a medical assistant/technician in a health-related facility.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and indirect activities to facilitate unit functioning.
• Ensure safe and competent care for patients regarding nutritional, skin integrity, elimination, and hygiene needs.
• Take patient vital signs and ensure cleanliness and stocking of equipment and facilities.
• Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
