About The Position

The Patient Care Support Associate provides comfort measures, assists with basic needs, and supports nursing and ancillary staff by maintaining an organized, welcoming, and responsive environment. The associate serves as an additional set of hands, on the unit, enhancing patient satisfaction and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position provides essential logistical and environmental support to the inpatient nursing units.

Requirements

Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and staff.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Reliable, dependable, and team oriented.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three to six months of previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

Enhance the patient experience by responding promptly and courteously to call lights, offering comfort items, and maintaining a calm, caring presence.
Assist patients with non-clinical needs such as meal tray setup, fresh water, blankets, and repositioning of personal items for convenience.
Participate in hourly rounding with the care team to proactively address comfort, safety, and environmental needs.
Observe and report any changes in patient condition or environment to licensed nursing staff.
Escort patients or visitors within the hospital when appropriate, ensuring a positive and safe experience.
Ensure PPE stations are stocked per infection control protocols.
Support unit efficiency by restocking supplies, tidying patient rooms, and ensuring equipment and materials are readily available for nursing staff.
Prepare rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges to promote timely patient flow. Including removal of used items and preparation for Environmental Services.
Deliver and retrieve supplies, equipment, or specimens as directed, helping streamline unit operations.
Maintain a clean, orderly environment by removing clutter to support fall prevention and hallway cleanliness.
