About The Position

The Patient Care Supervisor assumes the responsibility of supervising and acting as the administrative representative for the Chief Nursing Officer, and other hospital departments as needed, on assigned shifts. He/She works collaboratively with other personnel on call as indicated. The PCS assumes other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Graduate of a MBON approved school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
  • Required to complete and maintain current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • TB Certification required and maintained within 6 months of hire.
  • SAMA de-escalation Sessions 1-2 completion required and maintained within 6 months of hire.
  • Five (5) years progressive professional nursing experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are required.
  • Must possess keen mental faculties in the management of information.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels associated with care of acute patient/family, rapidly changing patient conditions, emotional demands of patients and families, and demands of maintaining effective working relationships with peers, managers, physicians, and other health care workers.
  • Work requires superb communication / speaking / enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.).
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • ACLS preferred.
  • Five (5) years progressive professional nursing experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
