Department Overview Our St. Paul 5th and 6th floors are 26-bed pediatric medical/surgical units that cares for a spectrum of children, from infants to young adults, suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our 5th-floor team of dedicated professionals specialize in the care of patients with diabetes, general medical/surgical care, and children in acute behavioral health crisis. Our 6th-floor team of dedicated professionals also specialize in the care of patients with diabetes, in addition to respiratory conditions and post-operative surgical care, with a specialty in urological surgery, while also providing medical stabilization to children with eating disorders. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from overnight to several days for a specialty diagnosis. Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include child life, music therapy, social work, dietitians, case managers and other specialists. Position Summary The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is considered a front-line department/unit leader. The PCS will directly lead clinical support staff and assist in the leadership of RN staff.
