About The Position

The Patient Care Specialist at Dexcom is responsible for providing direct training, education, onboarding, and support for users of the Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems. This role involves being a relationship manager and coach for patients, ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed with their CGM therapy. The position requires a strong understanding of diabetes management and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Registered Health Care Provider (nurse or dietitian qualified) is mandatory.
• Educated to a minimum of Diploma level, preferably with a degree or evidence of degree-level study.
• Minimum 3+ years' work experience in a patient-centered environment with good diabetes knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new technologies.

• Trained and skilled in telemedicine
• Extensive knowledge of Dexcom products and therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct training, education, onboarding, and support for Dexcom CGM users and their families.
• Assess patients' individual needs and clinical concerns, applying education and customer service tactics to meet those needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients via phone, in person, and through web-based platforms.
• Follow up with patients who are no longer using Dexcom CGM to understand their experience and needs.
• Serve as the point of contact for healthcare professionals and Dexcom users for inquiries, complaints, or concerns regarding products.
• Make clinical decisions regarding therapy discontinuation in conjunction with patients' healthcare providers.
• Provide face-to-face training to healthcare professionals, carers, or Dexcom users when online methods are not appropriate.
• Attend national or regional company meetings as required.
