About The Position

Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a Patient Care Rooming Technician, to be based in their South Portland, ME office.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Prior experience in a medical office environment is required
• Experience as a patient care rooming technician is preferred (on-the-job training is available for select candidates)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy, professional environment
• Effective and tactful communication skills when working with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians
• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Ability to commute to the South Portland office Monday through Friday.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a patient care rooming technician is preferred (on-the-job training is available for select candidates)

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing exam rooms each day
• Keeping exam rooms clean, sanitized, tidy, and fully stocked
• Escorting patients to exam rooms in a polite and professional manner
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, etc.) in the electronic health record
• Administering patient questionnaires
• Recording patient information and medications in the electronic health record
• Faxing medical and equipment orders to other providers
• Assisting with completion of forms and paperwork
• Helping schedule appointments, testing, or procedures as needed
