About The Position

The Patient Care Representative (PCR) is essential for the smooth operation of the hospital's entrance, providing services to patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves checking in patients, issuing wristbands for security, guiding individuals to their destinations, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations. PCRs work closely with security personnel to address any potential threats or emergencies, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
  • Experience with administrative tasks such as check-in, data entry, and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and performance.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Immunizations are required for a hospital setting, and employees must submit immunization records during the onboarding process.
  • All candidates will be required to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors, verify appointments, and ensure proper check-in at the hospital entrance.
  • Issue wristbands to all patients and visitors as part of security measures.
  • Guide patients and visitors to their respective departments or areas within the hospital, providing clear and accurate directions.
  • Inform patients and visitors about hospital visitation policies, patient rights, and other key information to ensure a smooth hospital experience.
  • Work in tandem with hospital security personnel to identify, address, and escalate any security threats or emergencies, ensuring safety for all.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information, adhering to HIPAA laws and hospital privacy guidelines.
  • Be available to cover entrances as required, understanding that shifts may change or rotate between various hospital entrances.
  • Provide consistent coverage at entrances 24/7, 365 days per year, ensuring that patient and visitor needs are always met.
