About The Position

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The Pharmacist will ensure the safe and accurate administration of medications by verifying the clinical appropriateness of prescribed treatments and overseeing proper delivery methods, thereby promoting patient safety and optimizing therapeutic outcomes. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Delaware Valley Hospital Community Pharmacy Work Shift and Schedule: This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range: $54.17 - $81.25 per hour, depending on experience This position is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s of Science Degree (B.S.) or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or NYS internship permit

Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients according to physician orders and pharmacy regulations
  • Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
  • Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, storage, and adherence to therapy
  • Provide immunizations and other health screenings in compliance with state laws and pharmacy protocols
  • Manage and verify insurance claims and prior authorizations to facilitate medication access
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy, including inventory management, ordering, and storage of pharmaceuticals
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as accreditation standards governing pharmacy practice
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and resolve prescription-related issues
  • Educate pharmacy staff and technicians on policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide professional advice on over-the-counter medications and general health concerns
