Job Summary: Location: Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, mostly day shifts with rotating evenings, weekends, and holidays Provide medication therapy management services in collaboration with other providers to assure that drug therapy is safe, appropriate, cost-effective, and efficient. The pharmacist must maintain competency in unique aspects of drug therapy for the patients whom they provide care for, including factors related to patients of all age groups (neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics) and patient disposition (inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient). Pharmacy services provided may include interdisciplinary patient care rounds, medication reconciliation, medication therapy monitoring, medication orders management, medication dispensing, patient education, drug information, drug dosing, and various scholarly activities. The pharmacist will provide both clinical and distributive tasks for safe medication use, and provide training and education to students and residents as necessary. Mastery of the Cerner pharmacy and hospital information system application is required. Must be proficient with technology and workflows associated with the medication management process including (but not limited to) automated dispensing cabinets, anesthesia carts, USP <797> IV requirements, and clinical decision support software. The pharmacist ensures that patient care is maintained through compliance with the department’s and organization’s policies, rules and regulations by the respective State Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
