The Pediatric Float Pool Nurse Manager is a leadership role that oversees a team of nurses and support staff who provide care across various inpatient and outpatient pediatric units. They are responsible for staff coordination, which is done by overseeing scheduling and deployment of float pool nurses to various units including pediatric medicine, surgery, cardiology, oncology/hematology, emergency, critical care units, PED and outpatient clinics. This role also has comprehensive operational authority and responsibility for designated clinical area(s). Their responsibilities include: fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of patient/family centered care and service, patient and staff satisfaction, program development, managing and developing teams, and ensuring integration with the clinical enterprise. Provides feedback, coaching and mentoring to less experienced peers and other members of the health care team. In addition, this role acts as a liaison between float pool staff and unit managers to ensure smooth transitions and effective teamwork.
