Cleveland Clinic's H80 General Medicine/Telemetry Unit serves a diverse population, with patients presenting respiratory issues, gastrointestinal distress, alcohol withdrawal and other medical concerns. This diversity is comparable to that of the Emergency Department (ED), so the hands-on experience you gain as a PCNA is invaluable throughout the hospital system. Not only does this position offer an excellent way to enhance your nursing skills but also make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families every day. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered

Nice To Haves

  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
