Cleveland Clinic’s G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown unit and a 24-bed internal medicine unit. Patients in this unit have a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis and complex multi-system failure. Caregivers float to both sides of the unit, so you will have one foot in medicine and 1 foot in critical care. A caregiver in this position works nights, from 7:00pm – 7:30am.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
