M30 is a 13-bed ICU Step-Down Unit that provides specialized care for patients ranging from newborns to young adults (up to age 26). The unit primarily cares for respiratory and post-surgical patients, serving as a bridge between intensive care and general inpatient units. As an upskilled unit, M30 nurses are trained to manage higher-acuity patients under the ICU service, offering an advanced level of care beyond that of a standard medical-surgical floor. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to start their nursing career at Cleveland Clinic and work in a supportive and caring environment. You must be enrolled in nursing school! This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 7:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross before or during new hire period
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered
  • You must be enrolled in nursing school!

Nice To Haves

  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
