Job Description: The Role: Patient Care Monitor Technician Works in collaboration with the medical-surgical inpatient nursing teams to care for patients requiring cardiac/ telemetry monitoring. The Opportunity: The Patient Care monitor technician will monitor patients’ heart rates and rhythms for any deviations from normal and will notify appropriate staff as needed. Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and rhythm changes and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. The Work: Reports abnormal telemetry findings or changes to nursing staff using appropriate systems.

Requirements

• BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Will be required to complete an arrhythmia recognition class and attend mandatory updates as required.
• Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Must be proficient in medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
