About The Position

The patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department/unit is child and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff. Our Minneapolis neonatal float team is an integral part of nursing services provided within our neonatal community - from the special care nursery up through our level III and level IV neonatal intensive care units. Team members are able to apply specific skills sets to these departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. The team is a valuable resource for the entire neonatal hospital system. Our nursing care team consists of registered nurses, clinical support associates and unit operations coordinators. RNs hired into this area would support our Special Care Nursery, Infant Care Center and Neonatal Intensive Care units. The neonatal float team offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. We value teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. Requirements

  • Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience.
  • Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department/unit (P&L, finance, budget, etc.).
  • Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit.
  • Desired characteristics: strategic thinker, collaborative, seeks to understand, embraces continuous improvement, navigates through change, calm demeanor, positive attitude.
