About The Position

Patient Care Floater/MA The Patient Care Float Medical Assistant (MA performs Medical Assistant duties in multiple departments as assigned on a routine "fill-in" basis. This position functions as an important member of the healthcare teams by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The MA performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. WORK SHIFT Mon - Fri; 7:00 am - 5:00 pm; variable days and hours as needed. Primarily located in Eau Claire with potential assistance to Chippewa, Lake Hallie, Oakwood, Menomonie, Riverview, Rice Lake, Cumberland and Hayward. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: One of the following: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program Documented successful completion of the following courses or (their recognized course equivalent): Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class. Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class. Pharmacology from an accredited institution. Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire. Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
