The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones. Hours: This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The supervisor will determine the schedule. May be asked to float to other practices as needed. Location : 8526 Dell Webb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134, and 25% travel to other Las Vegas locations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience
  • Beginner level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
  • Complete check-in tasks to include insurance verification and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Schedules appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
