About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-centered Patient Coordinator to support our Radiation Oncology team. This role does not require a nursing license; however, prior healthcare experience is required, with Radiation Oncology experience strongly preferred. The Patient Care Coordinator ensures smooth clinic operations by managing patient flow, coordinating appointments, and supporting both patients and providers throughout the treatment journey.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a healthcare setting (clinic, hospital, medical office, etc.).
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Imaging, or similar specialized care settings.
  • Familiarity with oncology workflows, patient navigation, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and general medical documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients in the Radiation Oncology department.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up visits, simulation appointments, and treatment planning sessions.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, dosimetrists, therapists, and administrative staff to streamline patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely communication of updates.
  • Assist patients with check-in, paperwork, and navigation of their treatment process.
  • Provide high-quality customer service with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Support departmental workflow, ensuring patient readiness and efficient clinic operations.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and clinic policies.
