The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30AM – 5:30PM (8-hour shift). Supervisor will determine schedule. Location: 2845 Siena Heights, Henderson, NV

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of medical front desk experience
  • 1+ years of electronic medical record experience
  • 1+ years of health plan insurance knowledge
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a health care setting
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
  • Experience in providing customer service
  • Experience in conflict/resolution
  • Independent means of transportation during work hours for job related tasks

Responsibilities

  • Work with providers and staff to resolve patient billing concerns and ensure completeness of documentation
  • Assist physicians, as required in coordination of care for patients
  • Provides high quality care and service excellence to our patients
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct and update as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Answers phone, takes messages and routes calls appropriately
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Point of contact for patients who raise questions and concerns regarding billing
  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers for patient’s coordination of care
  • Ensures work is being performed according to company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Participates in a variety of department initiatives
  • Ensure all OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulations are followed
  • Follows proper reporting protocols for any compliance or incident reporting as needed
  • Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality
  • Other duties and responsibilities, not specifically described, maybe defined, or assigned from time to time, consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities of the incumbent by management
