About The Position

The Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Scheduler at AIM Vein Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the medical office while providing outstanding service to patients. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years' customer service experience; in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • 1+ years' EMR systems experience preferred.
  • 1+ years' knowledge/experience of medical insurances.
  • 1+ years' Procedure/Surgery Scheduling experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant certification (Preferred)
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Enter patient demographic information needed for scheduling in the electronic medical record.
  • Take and/or respond to telephone calls promptly to establish or confirm appointments.
  • Schedule patient appointments relating to consultations, evaluations, and treatments; follow-up or re-evaluation.
  • Warmly greet every patient upon arrival, obtain insurance information, and any other necessary data.
  • Answer office phones and direct calls appropriately.
  • Check in and check out patients.
  • Call and/or text patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and to help them schedule testing for off-site services.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practice's charting policy.
  • Verify insurance benefits and ensure all authorizations and referrals are obtained prior to the patients visit.
  • Collect all amounts due at the time of service including co-pays, self-insured amounts, past due balances, and amounts for DME products.
  • Respond to requests for information from patients, providers, and coworkers in a timely manner and with a positive attitude.
  • Complete all end of the day reports, batches, and ensure all money is accounted for prior to leaving each day.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
  • Work closely with the Front Office Manager, communicating concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Maintain a professional work environment at all times.
  • Room patients and take vitals when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
