Requirements

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
  • Strong computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college - medical, business, and accounting focus.
  • Customer Service Experience.
  • Current CPR card.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a business office or clinical environment.
  • Bilingual.
  • EMR experience preferred - Athenahealth practice management system.

Responsibilities

  • Greet incoming patients in person or over the phone in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Complete pre-visit planning including contacting patients for updated insurance, completing insurance verification, and updating patient records.
  • Register new patients and verify patient information for existing patients.
  • Collect co-pays and payments when needed.
  • Answer inbound calls to schedule patients and act as a liaison to clinical staff for patient questions.
  • Complete administrative duties to ensure a smooth patient visit, timely billing processing, and an organized front office.
  • Make outbound calls to patients to schedule appointments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Exhibit punctual and regular attendance.
  • Follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Work in a group but complete assigned tasks individually.
