The Patient Care Companion position at Advocate Sherman Hospital is a full-time night shift role, offering comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and 401K. The companion also plays a key role in meeting patients' nutritional needs, assisting with meals, and ensuring proper dietary adherence. Maintaining patient confidentiality and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals are essential. The role involves documenting patient information, reporting changes to the registered nurse, and acting as a patient/family advocate. Furthermore, the Patient Care Companion is expected to uphold patient care standards, respond to emergencies, and maintain technical skills through mandatory inservices, while adhering to infection control policies.
