About The Position

VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital is seeking a full time Patient Care Attendant to join our team! We are seeking an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team. Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to effectively communicate with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Restraining animals for doctor and technician
• Administering medications under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with obtaining lab samples
• Running labs on our in-house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines)
• Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery
• Surgical pack preparation
• Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients
• Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.)
• General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment
• Other duties as assigned
