About The Position

The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate Bigelow 9 General Medicine, and Bigelow 13 RACU Why This Role Is Important? The RACU/General Medicine is an eighteen-bed unit crafted for the care of patients requiring focused pulmonary care and the care of patients with general medical diagnoses. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, conscientious patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. PCAs will float between two units, Bigelow 9 General Medicine, and Bigelow 13 RACU. Requirements

  • Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
