About The Position

Summary: This position will assist with the diagnostic mammogram process (possibly biopsies) and follow-up for those patients. Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Detail oriented
Ability to multitask in a busy work environment
Good computer skills
Ability to communicate clearly with patients, their family members, co-workers, and referring physicians’ offices
Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching during scheduled shift.
Assist patients on and off exam tables.
Indoor office setting with daily patient contact.
There is the potential of exposure to blood and other body fluids.

Previous healthcare clinical experience and scheduling/front office experience preferred

Responsibilities

Escorts patient to mammography department, provides exam gown and changing instructions
Accompanies and assists Technologists with biopsies in Procedure Room
Post procedure room breakdown/clean-up
Relay post biopsy patient care instructions
Perform post biopsy care, applying pressure to the biopsy area and bandaging the area
Assist patients inquiring about results
Scan and notify radiologists when reports are ready to be viewed in PACS/Intergy
Contact or fax reports/addendums to referring physicians
Log pathology reports in biopsy binder
Contact patient to relay benign results to patient per Radiologist requests as needed
Log and notify radiologist when patient conversations are completed and loaded into PACS
Check PACS for “Critical Results”
Confirm and review and request edits for inquiries of Pathology reports from CBL
Responsible for maintaining CBL supplies inventory
Fax Radiologist’s/pathology report request by referring physicians
Print and log daily pathology results
Assist technologists preparing trays and equipment both stereo and ultrasound guided biopsies
Liaison for vendor companies for supplies and education or new supply demonstrations
Responsible for mammography callback book for diagnostic appointments not made post 3 weeks of screening. Notify patient and referring physician of the same
Responsible for all non-Hologic biopsy office supplies
