About The Position

The Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician position at Mercy Hospital Paris involves assisting in the individualized care of patients under the direction of an RN or LPN. The role is designed to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. The position is PRN (as needed) and requires working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• CNA/CPTC certification or enrollment in a healthcare career program
• No previous experience required
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical records system
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patient mobility, and transport
• Perform clerical support duties as needed
• Conduct phlebotomy/blood cultures
• Manage enteral feeding
• Provide wound care
• Remove IV/Foley catheters
• Perform trach care/suctioning
