About The Position

As a Patient Care Associate/Nursing Assistant in Adult Health Care/Med-Surg, you will find your purpose providing an array of medical services designed to keep adults feeling well and in control of their health! Under the supervision of the RN, the PCA performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established methods and procedures of the hospital and will perform receptionist secretarial support duties while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities

• Critical monitoring, like vital signs and glucose checks – so we can better assess their health
• Transport patients to appointments and procedures – to get them the right care at the right time
• Interact with patients to promote comfort, and express compassion and empathy as they heal
• Assist patients with walking safely
• Assist with ADLs (activities of daily living) such as bathing, brushing teeth, and toileting
• Manage communication in the patient care area regarding patient care activities and patient location
• Initiate, assemble, and maintain charts for all patients on the assigned unit
• Transcribe physicians' orders and complete necessary forms, requisitions, and communications
• Record and chart clinical data and other patient information received from nursing staff and medical staff

• Starting pay begins at $18.43 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience
• Pay range: $18.43 - $24.44 per hour
