Requirements

• Direct supervision by a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse in the functional care of patients.
• Collect, record, or communicate pertinent clinical data to the supervising nurse.
• Transport or accompany patients as necessary to other areas of the hospital.
• Assist in patient teaching.
• Communicate any changes in patient status immediately to the supervising nurse.
• Document routine parameters of care per standard and record name and title.
• Perform and document patient admission, transfer, and discharge tasks as requested by the nurse.
• Maintain patient/family confidentiality at all times.
• Respond to patient/family requests promptly, seeking assistance as needed.
• Perform and remain competent in skills.
• Act as a constant observer when requested.
