About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) role at MultiCare offers an excellent opportunity to support comprehensive health care services for patients and families. Working within the Occupational Medicine team, the PCA assists Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians within the scope of nursing practices. This position is ideal for individuals with strong interpersonal skills who are looking to explore a career in nursing, offering daily variety and problem-solving opportunities through collaboration with the entire nursing staff. MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, where this position is located, is a 388-bed acute-care hub serving Puyallup and East Pierce County. It is the area's only hospital, featuring a Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma and Neonatal ICUs, Level I Trauma Rehabilitation Center, Children’s Therapy Unit, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. The hospital boasts innovative facilities like the LEED Gold-certified Dally Tower and Pulse Heart Institute, providing a dynamic and state-of-the-art environment for clinicians. The Puyallup community, nestled at the foot of Mount Rainier along the Puyallup River, offers a welcoming small-town feel just 10 miles from Tacoma and 35 miles from Seattle. Requirements

  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington
  • Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement
  • For students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, Registration as a Nurse’s Assistant is required
  • Successfully completed a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for the Healthcare provider and has a current card

Nice To Haves

  • Patient care experience (institutional) of one (1) year or more

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care as directed by RN/physician
  • Provide assistance through dressing changes, data gathering, documentation and vital signs
  • Partner by implementing your service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacities
  • Effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work duties
