About The Position

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies. Responsible for coordination of communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders and assembling patient’s charts and other necessities. Work Schedule: This position may be hired at 0.5–0.9 FTE based on candidate preference. Day shift with an every-other-weekend rotation. Requirements

  • Must have one of the following: High school diploma or equivalent
  • HS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
  • Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrates basic computers skills or the ability to achieve proficiency within 3 months.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to independently initiate appropriate tasks within the scope of practice of the position.
  • Ability to provide individualized care and respond to a variety of patient/family preferences.
  • Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience utilizing strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)

Nice To Haves

  • CNA experience
  • HUC or unit clerk experience
  • Microsoft office experience
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Knowledge of pre and post-op surgical/orthopedic and general medical patients
  • Knowledge and care in the use of all specialized orthopedic equipment
  • Knowledge of routine order sets in Epic
