About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
- Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
- Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
