About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct care and behavioral support to patients with medical and psychiatric disorders. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, PCAs assist with daily living needs, therapeutic activities, and ensure the environment remains safe, structured, and compassionate.
Requirements
- CPR / BLS certification required upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, feeding, positioning, and grooming.
- Observe, record, and report changes in patients’ behavior, mental status, and vital signs.
- Support individualized care plans, daily group programs, and therapeutic interventions.
- Follow facility policies and behavioral health safety procedures to maintain a therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate with nurses, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and therapists to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
- Assist in crisis prevention and intervention to maintain patient and staff safety.
