Join our team in a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. We are staffed with RNs, CNAs, Telemetry Techs, and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced cardiac monitoring technology to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure optimal outcomes for our diverse patient population.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred
  • Acute care patient experience preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Active on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry within 6 months of completing training program.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
  • Perform other job-related duties, within scope of practice, as delegated by the Unit Director/Supervisor, House Supervisor, Nursing Team Coordinator, and/or Administrator.
