About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for their 4SE TCU Cardiac/Telemetry Step Down Unit located within the Florence Hospital. This role is part-time, 24 hours/week, with 7A-7P shifts. The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program, utilizing customer service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. They demonstrate the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The PCA provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN, assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients. Requirements

  • High school Diploma / GED
  • Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • General computer skills and applications
  • Customer service experience
