St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located within the Ft. Thomas Hospital. The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. This role utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. The PCA demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. They provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN, assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities

Coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program
Utilizing Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone
Demonstrating the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel
