St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located within the Ft. Thomas Hospital. The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. This role utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. The PCA demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. They provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN, assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma / GED
  • Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • General computer skills and applications
  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program
