About The Position

The position involves performing basic supportive care to specified patients and families under the direction and supervision of an RN or Care Manager. The role requires collecting, documenting, and reporting data to the RN or Care Manager. The essential functions include collecting vital signs, completing screening questions, promoting patient safety, assisting with procedures, preparing materials, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA. The position also involves clerical tasks, continuing education, and potentially acting as a preceptor for other staff.

Requirements

  • Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent licensure or experience.
  • Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider).
  • One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, or equivalent education or licensure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in providing age-appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, documents, and reports vital signs.
  • Completes screening questions and documentation or minor specimen testing as assigned.
  • Promotes general patient safety.
  • Holds and positions patients and assists with procedures.
  • Prepares materials and supplies as delegated.
  • Remains compliant with HIPAA and maintains professionalism.
  • Ensures environmental standards are met and all unit and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Completes continuing education and participates in offered educational opportunities.
  • May act as a preceptor and train other staff.
