Job Summary Summary A $750.00 sign on bonus is being offered to eligible new employees hired in our PCA positions. Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Requirements

  • Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred
  • Healthcare experience 1-2 years required
  • Ability to multitask and handle stress crisis situations effectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience required.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to lift and transport patients using the appropriate physical technique in a safe manner for the patient and self according to Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
  • Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
  • Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
  • Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
  • Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
  • Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
