About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified healthcare professional responsible for providing direct patient care in a hospital setting. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, delivering basic nursing care, and ensuring a safe environment under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The PCA II must maintain current certifications and is expected to monitor patients effectively while prioritizing their primary responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certification in Patient Care (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office, preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to all patients.
• Maintain a safe environment under the direction of the RN.
• Monitor dysrhythmia as required.
