About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
• Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support certification included as part of the orientation program if not currently held.
