We are looking to hire a Patient Care Assistant/CNA! This position is for any acute care/medical-surgical areas at the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Medical Center location. Areas include: 2 General: Cardiac/Nephrology Unit 3 General: Post Surgical Unit 4 General: Orthopedics/Neurology Unit All unit colleagues will float depending on patient census. As a Patient Care Assistant at MercyOne, you will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care. Observes and reports the patient’s response and progress to interventions. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne. Schedule: .6 FTE; 48 hour per bi-weekly pay period 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation Night shift, 6:45pm - 7:15am General Requirements: Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care. Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care. Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals. Performs unit-based functions as assigned

Requirements

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following: Nurse Aide I Course Nursing Fundamentals Course Nurse Aid Competency Test Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP)
Successful completion of the Competency Test, Iowa Emergency Medical Technician Certification
Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.

Nice To Haves

Nurse Aide II - Advanced Course is preferred and may be provided post-hire.
