About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant position is in the Medical Surgical Telemetry Department at Holy Family Medical Center- LTACH in Des Plaines, IL. This is a Full-Time, Night 12 Hour Shift role. The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology

Nice To Haves

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
